Sadgasm
Sadgasm is a response towards the notions and contemporary representations of romance. The work reacts against the falsehoods of romantic ideals and mainstream portrayal of love in movies, literature and television from a perspective of disappointment, anger and apathy about how love is demonstrated and romantic ideals. This perspective is conveyed by the various objects being incorporated into the romantic theme of the installation. The title of the installation comes from a popular and mainstream animated series The Simpsons’s episode “That 90’s Show” which Homer and Marge parody early 1990’s music superstars Kurt Cobain and Courtney Love.
‘Night, Sweetie’

The bed installation ‘Night, Sweetie… juxtaposes the comfort a typical duvet offers, only for the written text to covey an uncomfortable element akin to falling out of love. The design of the duvet cover is intended to be excessive with a range of materials and chosen imagery in comparison to commercially sold duvet covers. The duvet cover utilises romantic motifs with the aim challenge the audience with their perception of love. More specifically at the realism and brutal honesty that come with feelings of love.

2022
Violentine is a velvet piece with numerous objects hand stitched into the fabric to compose a relationship between what the objects and materials signify while applying tension with their weight onto the fabric. The objects are displayed in no particular order but position in a stricter manner, and the original purposes of these objects are juxtaposed. With each object skewing to wait her pain or pleasure. The work alludes to the desire of seeking a risky romance and experiencing love that goes towards extremity and a potential unhealthy relationship.
